IF YOU CONFIRM

The Bose speaker cover separates from either of the front seats.

ACTION

Modify seats and replace all four (4) speaker covers per the Service Procedure in this bulletin.

Submit a Primary Failed Part (PP) line claim using the claims coding table.

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of ACTIONS (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the headrest





2. If not already detached unsnap the speaker cover from the seat.





3. Separate the speaker cover from the seat hook.





4. Locate the foam surrounding the front half of the speaker between the seat cover and speaker.

Note:
The purpose of the procedures in steps 5, 6 and 7 are to "minimize" (cut down) the thickness between the speaker cover and speaker.








5. Use needle nose pliers to remove the foam from the front half of the speaker opening on the seat.





6. There's a white plastic support that surrounds the speaker opening on the seat material. Roll this piece back.





Note:
Do not cut the speaker cover attaching hook when cutting as directed in step 7.





7. Using a pair of scissors cut off the top of the white plastic support above the stitch line.

Do not cut the speaker cover attaching hook.

8. Install new speaker cover.








Important:
Locate speaker hook and attach new speaker cover to seat hook. See Figure 9 and 10.





9. Snap speaker cover back in place on seat. The clamps will click in place when the cover is securely attached.

10. Repeat the above procedures on the other three speakers.

11. Reinstall all headrests.
