Compressor HVAC: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation of CompressorAWD Models
1. Use a refrigerant collecting equipment (for HFC-134a) to discharge the refrigerant.
2. Remove engine cover with power tool. Refer to "INTAKE MANIFOLD COLLECTOR".
3. Remove duct, air cleaner assembly, air cleaner assembly and air hose. Refer to "AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT".
4. Remove engine under cover with power tool.
5. Remove dumper.
6. Remove high-pressure flexible hose. Refer to "Removal and Installation of High-pressure Flexible Hose".
7. Remove low-pressure flexible hose. Refer to "Removal and Installation of Low-pressure Flexible Hose".
8. Remove high-pressure pipe 1. Refer to "Removal and Installation of High-pressure Pipe 1 (Engine Compartment)".
9. Disconnect compressor (magnet clutch) connector.
10. Remove A/C compressor belt. Refer to "DRIVE BELTS".
11. Disconnect compressor (ECV) connector.
12. Remove mounting bolts from compressor with power tool.
13. Remove compressor from upward of the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
Installation is basically the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
- Replace O-rings of low-pressure flexible hose and high-pressure flexible hose with new ones, and then apply compressor oil to it when installing it.
- When recharging refrigerant, check for leaks.
