A/T Does Not Shift: D4 -> D3

A/T Does Not Shift: 4th gear -> 3rd gear

SYMPTOM: When shifted from 4M to 3M position in manual mode, does not downshift from 4th to 3rd gear.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
1. CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS
Execute self-diagnosis.
Do the self-diagnostic results indicate PNP switch, ATF pressure switch 1, ATF pressure switch 3?
YES >> Check the malfunctioning system. Refer to "DTC P0705 PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH", "DTC P1841 ATF PRESSURE SWITCH 1", "DTC P1843 ATF PRESSURE SWITCH 3".
NO >> GO TO 2.

2. CHECK A/T FLUID LEVEL





Check A/T fluid level again. Refer to "Checking A/T Fluid".
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> Refill ATF.

3. CHECK CONTROL LINKAGE





Check the control linkage.
^ Refer to "Checking of A/T Position".
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 4.
NG >> Adjust control linkage. Refer to "Adjustment of A/T Position".

4. MANUAL MODE SWITCH
Check the manual mode switch. Refer to "DTC P1815 MANUAL MODE SWITCH".
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 5.
NG >> Repair or replace damaged parts.

5. CHECK A/T FLUID CONDITION
1. Remove oil pan. Refer to "Control Valve Assembly".





2. Check A/T fluid condition. Refer to "Fluid Condition Check".
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 6.
NG >> GO TO 9.

6. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
^ Check the malfunction items. If any items are damaged, repair or replace damaged parts. Refer to "Symptom Chart" (Symptom No.15).
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 7.
NG >> Repair or replace damaged parts.

7. CHECK SYMPTOM
Check again.
OK or NG
OK >> INSPECTION END
NG >> GO TO 8.

8. PERFORM TCM INSPECTION
1. Perform TCM input/output signal inspection. Refer to "TCM Input/Output Signal Reference Values"
2. If NG, recheck TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
OK or NG
OK >> INSPECTION END
NG >> Repair or replace damaged parts.

9. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
^ Check the malfunction items. If any items are damaged, repair or replace damaged parts. Refer to "Symptom Chart" (Symptom No. 15).
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 7.
NG >> Repair or replace damaged parts.
