Power Door Lock Does Not Operate With Lock/Unlock Switch

POWER DOOR LOCK DOES NOT OPERATE WITH LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH (LH AND RH) ON DOOR TRIM

System Description
The lock/unlock switch (LH and RH) on door trim can lock and unlock all doors.

Possible Cause
- Lock/unlock switch
- Circuit open or short

Diagnostic Repair Procedure (for confirmed incidents)
1. Check power supply to smart entrance control unit.
2. Check ground circuit for smart entrance control unit.
3. Check door lock and unlock switch input signal circuit: Use CONSULT-II DATA MONITOR in DOOR LOCK to confirm that LOCK SW DR/AS indicates ON when lock/unlock switch is turned to LOCK. Confirm that UNLK SW DR/AS indicates ON when lock/unlock switch is turned to UNLOCK.
a. Check circuits between smart entrance control unit and door lock/unlock switch: Continuity/No shorts to ground.
b. Check ground circuit between door lock/unlock switch and ground: Continuity.
c. Door lock/unlock switch component test:
Check continuity between each door lock/unlock switch terminals. See illustration.
