- Smart entrance control unit
Diagnostic Repair Procedure (for confirmed incidents)
1. Check interior lamp operation by interior lamp switch operation.
2. Check interior lamp switch position.
3. Check interior lamp operation with CONSULT-II: Use CONSULT-II ACTIVE TEST in MULTI REMOTE ENT. Confirm interior lamp illuminates when INT/IGN ILLUM is ON.
a. Check circuit between interior lamp and smart entrance control unit: Continuity/No shorts to ground.
4. Check key hole illumination operation: Use CONSULT-II ACTIVE TEST in MULTI REMOTE ENT. Confirm key hole illumination illuminates when INT/IGN ILLUM is ON.
a. Check key hole illumination.
b. Check circuit between key hole illumination and smart entrance control unit: Continuity/No shorts to ground.
5. Check door switch input signal: Use CONSULT-II DATA MONITOR in MULTI REMOTE ENT to confirm that DOOR SW-ALL indicates ON when any door is open. Confirm OFF when all doors are closed.
a. Check circuit between smart entrance control unit and door switch: Continuity/No shorts to ground.
b. Check circuit between door switch and ground: Continuity.
c. Door component test: Continuity should exist when the switch is in the released (open) position; no continuity in the depressed (closed) position.
6. Check front LH door unlock sensor input signal: Use CONSULT-II DATA MONITOR in MULTI REMOTE ENT to confirm that LOCK SIG DR indicates OFF when front LH door is locked. Confirm ON when front LH door is unlocked.
a. Check circuit between smart entrance control unit and front LH door unlock sensor: Continuity/No shorts to ground.
b. Check circuit between front LH door unlock sensor and ground: Continuity.
c. Front LH door unlock sensor component test: Continuity should exist when the sensor is in the unlock position; no continuity in the lock position.
