C/U Initialization

1. Insert a NATS ignition key into the ignition.

2. Turn the key to the "ON" position (position 3 on the ignition switch). Do not start the engine.

3. With the key in the "ON" position, select C/U INITIALIZATION and START on CONSULT.

4. When INITIALIZATION COMPLETED is displayed, the ID of the inserted key has been registered.

5. Turn the key to the "OFF/LOCK" position. Remove the key from the ignition.

6. Wait at least five seconds. Then insert the next key to be registered into the ignition.

7. Turn the key to the "ON" position. Do not start the engine.

8. Wait at least five seconds. Then turn the key to the "OFF/LOCK" position. Remove the key from the ignition. The additional key is now registered.

9. Repeat the above cycle for each key which needs to be registered. A maximum of five keys can be registered.

10. Once all keys are registered, use any of the registered keys to start the engine. Then turn the key to the "OFF/LOCK" position. This will complete the C/U INITIALIZATION procedure.

11. Confirm that the security indicator is blinking. This will verify the completion of the C/U INITIALIZATION.

12. If INITIALIZATION STOPPED or FAILED is displayed on CONSULT during the above procedure:

a. Perform NATS SELF DIAGNOSIS. Repair any codes displayed.

b. Once NO SELF DIAGNOSTIC FAILURE INDICATED is displayed, perform C/U INITIALIZATION again.
