Neutral Safety Switch: Description and Operation

PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH

NOTE: The park/neutral position switch is an integral component of the inhibitor switch on automatic transmission equipped models. On manual transmission models, the neutral position switch is a separate component.

When the gear position is in "P" (A/T models only) or "N" (A/T & M/T models), park/neutral position is "ON". The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the park/neutral position at pin terminal No.22 when continuity with ground exists.
