OBD-II "A/T INITIAL START" TROUBLE CODE

APPLIED VEHICLE:
All equipped with OBD-II and automatic transmission

SERVICE INFORMATION





"A/T INITIAL START" may appear when you access the self-diagnostic results in the A/T system using CONSULT (see Figure 1).

This message indicates that the self-diagnosis results of self-learning have not been memorized in the A/T control unit. This message is stored in the self-diagnosis memory of the A/T control unit whenever the following
systems are disrupted:

^ The battery cable is disconnected

^ The power supply line is short circuited

^ The connector at the A/T control unit has poor contact

^ The fuse in the power supply circuit burns out

^ The connector from the A/T control unit is disconnected

^ The A/T control unit is replaced

^ The battery runs down The battery is replaced.

An actual DTC would have replaced "A/T INITIAL START" if there had been an incident with the transmission after the power to the A/T control unit was interrupted. Therefore, it is not necessary to drive the vehicle after erasing the DTC.
