Installation

1. Connect spiral cable electrical connector and tighten screws, then install steering column cover.
2. Pull pin guides outward and remove stopper.
3. Align spiral cable with neutral position.
4. If stopper was not used, align spiral cable as follows:
a. Turn spiral cable clockwise until it contacts stops.
b. Back off spiral cable approximately two turns and align yellow alignment mark on lefthand gear with spiral cable alignment arrow mark.
5. Install steering wheel, aligning spiral cable pin guides and pull spiral cable through.
6. Connect horn electrical connector, then engage spiral cable with steering wheel pawls.
7. Install steering wheel retaining nut and tighten to specifications.
8. Install air bag unit as described under Air Bag Module Replace.
9. Arm SRS as described under Air Bag Arming and Disarming.
