Throttle Body: Testing and Inspection
CAUTION: Do not soak the throttle body in carburetor cleaner. Use only a spray type cleaner and compressed air to clean the unit.
Inspect the throttle body for:
- Fuel and vacuum leaks at fittings, gaskets and throttle shaft
- Throttle shaft for binding
- Restricted passages
- Enlarged passages (from prior insertion of wires or brushes)
- Torn or damaged seals or gaskets
- Loose or missing fasteners
- Weak or damaged springs
- Missing components
Repair or replace as necessary.
