EGR Test:




EGR Function Test:




EGR & Canister Control Solenoid Valve Harness Connector:




EGR FUNCTION (DTC: P0400)
For malfunction (a)
1) Disconnect EGR & canister control solenoid valve harness connector.

NOTE:(The DTC for EGR & canister control solenoid valve will be displayed, however, ignore it.)

2) Start engine.

Overall Function Check:




3) Check the EGR valve lifting when racing up to 2,000 rpm through 4,000 rpm under no load.

NOTE: The EGR valve should lift up and down without sticking.

4) Reconnect its harness connector.
5) Check voltage between EGR temperature sensor harness connector terminal (1) and ground at idle speed.
Less than 4.5V should exist.

EGR Function Test:




6) Turn ignition switch "OFF". Check harness continuity between EGR temperature sensor harness connector terminal (2) and ECM terminal (50).
Continuity should exist.
7) Perform "COMPONENT CHECK", "EGR temperature sensor".

For malfunction (b)
1) Confirm the voltage between ECM terminal 51 and 43 is higher than 1.92V.

NOTE: Perform the following steps before the voltage becomes lower than 1.92V.

2) Start engine.
3) Check for the EGR valve lifting when racing up to 2,000 rpm through 4,000 rpm under no load.

NOTE: EGR valve should be closed and should not lift up.
