SERVICE INFORMATION
Some vehicles may experience a check engine light on with a code for the rear O2 sensor. This might have be caused by damage to the rear O2 sensor from over tightening. If diagnosis confirms that the rear O2 sensor needs to be replaced, do not to over torque the replacement rear O2 sensor.
Excessive torque will distort the inner working causing the sensor to not function or have a reduced service life.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
The correct torque for the (P10) G20 Rear O2 sensor is 18-24 (1.8-2.4, 13-17) N-m (Kg-m, ft.lb.).
CAUTION:
DO NOT OVER TORQUE
The recommended installation tool is a 17 mm O2 sensor socket, such as a Kent Moore P/N: J3647O.
