SERVICE INFORMATION
If the heater control assembly on a 1991-96 G20 does not illuminate with the dash lights on, or the bulb in the A/C switch does not light, it is no longer necessary to replace the entire unit. Replacement illumination lamps are now available in the Infiniti Parts System under a separate part number.
Use this bulletin to repair the incidents.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
For Heater Control Illumination:
1. Remove the heater & A/C control assembly (refer to pages HA79-HA80 of the 1996 service manual).

2. Remove the control amp. cover on the back of the assembly by sliding it upward (see Figure 1).

3. Remove the two screws located on the bottom of the assembly and gently slide the rear component away from the body of the control unit enough to expose the three illumination bulbs (see Figure 2).
NOTE: Do NOT separate the rear component from the heater control unit.
4. Remove all 3 bulbs and inspect for signs of wear and/or damage and replace the bulbs as necessary.

5. Locate the Lot No. of the heater control being serviced (see Figure 3). Use the chart below to determine which bulbs from the parts kit apply to your heater control.

For A/C Switch Bulb:
1. Remove the heater & A/C control assembly (refer to pages HA79-HA80 of the 1996 service manual).

2. Release the tab holding the switch in place (refer to Figure 4) and push the switch out of the assembly.
3. Replace the bulb. Use the chart above or the instructions contained in the bulb kit to decide which bulb in the kit you use here.
