SERVICE INFORMATION

G20 Vehicles with R12 or R134a Air Conditioning Systems





If a 1991-96 G20 exhibits refrigerant leaking from the condenser inlet tube, this condition may be caused by a stress crack at the base of the condenser inlet tube (see Figure 1).

If a 1991-93 G20 (below VIN # 450021) exhibits refrigerant leaking from the condenser serpentine tube, this condition may be caused by a corrosion crack in the condenser serpentine tube located at the contact area between the tube and the side support (see Figure 2).

For both stress cracking and corrosion cracking incidents, there is a countermeasure condenser now available to correct these conditions.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

For both stress cracking and corrosion cracking incidents, replace the condenser with the appropriate countermeasure unit.
