J30 STARTER HOLD RELAY CIRCUIT

APPLIED MODEL: 1993-94 Infiniti J30

APPLIED DATE: Starter hold circuit -- from August, 1992
Starter hold relay -- from August 17, 1993

SERVICE INFORMATION

All J30 vehicles produced after the applied date have a "starter hold" (ST hold) circuit added to the starting system. This circuit was added as a running change to eliminate starter chatter when releasing the ignition key to the ON position after starting.

In addition to the ST hold circuit mentioned above, a ST hold relay has been added to countermeasure a continuous starter incident which would occur in Park or Neutral gear with the key in the ON position. The ST hold relay was added as a running change with no part number change (no countermeasure service parts are available).

The table shows part number changes for the engine room harness, countermeasure ST hold relay lot number, and relay location. A circuit wiring diagram has been included for your reference.
