Fuel Pump Relay: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The fuel pump relay, allows battery voltage to be applied to the fuel pump control circuit.

OPERATION
The Engine Control Module (ECM) supplies the ground circuit to relay terminal (1) allowing the windings to close the switch contacts internally. Battery voltage is then applied to the fuel pump control circuit through relay terminal (5).
