Intake Air Plenum: Service and Repair

Fuel Pump Fuse Location:

REMOVAL
1. Remove the fuel pump fuse.
2. Turn the ignition key to the start position for approximately 15 seconds (this will release the fuel pressure).
3. Drain the coolant from the radiator petcock (located above a panel in the lower splash shield).
4. Remove the following:
- All vacuum hoses
- All electrical connectors
- EGR tube
- Air intake tubes
- Accelerator cable
- Cruise control cable
- Ignition coils

Intake Collector - Exploded View:

5. Remove the upper intake collector. Refer to the exploded view for removal information.
6. Remove the following parts:
- Vacuum hose for the fuel pressure regulator.
- Fuel delivery and return hoses.
- Injector harness connectors.

NOTE: Make a note or sketch of the position of injector terminals in relation to where the wiring harness was situated. This will aid in reassembly.

INSTALLATION
1. Installation is in the reverse order of removal. Remember to:
- torque all intake collector bolts to the proper amount.
- to re-install the fuel pump fuse.
- check for leaks and idle/driveability quality when you are done.
