Fig. 63 Oil pan bolt loosening & tightening sequence:

1. Drain engine oil and cooling system.
2. Remove engine undercover, air ducts, then upper and lower radiator shrouds.
3. Remove fan coupling.
4. Disconnect power steering oil hoses, then remove power steering pump.
5. Remove engine mounting insulator lower fixing nuts from both sides, then remove stabilizer bar.
6. Hoist engine with oil slingers, then remove oil pan bolts and oil pan.
7. Insert seal cutter tool No. KV10111100, or equivalent, between cylinder block and oil pan. Do not use a screwdriver.
8. Slide seal cutter by tapping its side with a hammer, then remove oil pan and oil strainer.
9. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply a continuous bead of suitable sealant 0.138-0.177 inch wide to oil pan mating surface.
b. Tighten bolts in reverse order of removal, Fig. 63.
c. Wait at least 30 minutes before refilling engine oil.
