1. Using a suitable valve spring compressor, install valve components parts into cylinder head, noting the following:
a. Always use new valve oil seals.
b. Before installing valve oil seal, install inner valve spring seat.
c. Install valve springs with its narrow pitch side toward cylinder head side.
d. Lubricate lifters with a suitable assembly lube, then install lifter into head, maintaining order of disassembly.
2. Install camshafts into head with knock pin of camshaft at the top Fig. 32. Exhaust camshaft has a toothed wheel for camshaft position sensor, Fig. 33.
3. Using sequence shown in Fig. 34, torque camshaft bearing caps to in two or three steps to 6.7-8.7 ft. lbs., noting the following:
b. Install valve timing control solenoid valves to camshafts, using a suitable sealer between head and valve.
a. Always use new camshaft seals, then when installing seals use suitable lubrication on seal lips and suitable sealer at bearing cap joints.
