Intake Air Plenum: Description and Operation

Intake Manifold Collector:

PURPOSE
The Intake Manifold Collector is designed to increase horsepower over a broader rpm range.

OPERATION
By having a larger space for air to accumulate, the engine has better response when the throttle valve is opened abruptly. This also reduces the pulsed vacuum effect that is more pronounced with a smaller manifold, allowing more precise control of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.
