With Direct Ignition Adapter

IGNITION TIMING

Power Transistor:

1. Disconnect the left-bank power transistor connector.

Direct Ignition Adapter Connection:

2. Connect adapter harness between the power transistor and the engine harness.
3. Connect trigger unit to adapter harness.

Installing Special Tool To Power Transistor:

4. Connect timing light to trigger loop, noting proper direction if relative to timing light operation.

Timing Marks:

5. Operate the engine at 2000 rpm for 2 minutes under no load the idle and check the ignition timing.

Timing should be 15° ± 2° BTDC.
If not proceed to step 6.

6. Adjust the ignition timing by turning the crank angle sensor located at the front of the left cylinder head (exhaust cam) after loosening the securing bolt.
7. Turn the engine off, remove the special service tools and reconnect the power transistor terminal.
