Oil Pump Service

1. Remove oil pump cover, then remove drive and driven gears.
2. Clean and inspect pump components for damage.
3. Using suitable measuring devices, refer to Engine for rebuilding specifications and inspect the following components for wear:
a. Drive shaft to cover.
b. Driven gear to driven shaft.
c. Gears to housing, end play.
d. Gears to housing, side clearance.

4. If any clearance exceeds specifications replace either gear set or entire oil pump as necessary.
5. Install pump cover and tighten fasteners to specifications.
