Inspect/R-R Floor MAT Bracket For Proper Installation

I. Inspect

1. Locate floor mat bracket in front of driver and passenger seats (Figure 1).


2. The hook portion of the floor mat bracket is a positioning fixture for the mat and should be on the side facing the transmission tunnel (refer to Figure 1).
3. If the floor mat brackets have been installed incorrectly - such that the hook portion is on the side facing the door - refer to the instructions which follow to exhange the brackets from side-to-side.


II. Remove Floor Mat Brackets

1. Adjust the driver's seat to the fully-forward position.
2. Remove the plastic covers to expose the seat bolts. Remove the rear right/left seat anchor bolts.
3. Adjust the seat to the fully-rearward position.
4. Remove the front right/left seat anchor bolts.
5. Lift seat and position rearward to access the floor mat bracket.
6. Remove the floor mat bracket by carefully pulling it away from the carpet.
7. Repeat Steps 1 - 6 for the seat on the passenger side. Exchange the bracket from side-to-side.

III. Replace Floor Mat Brackets

1. Install floor mat bracket into the mating holes of the carpet.

NOTE: The Hook side of the floor mat bracket must be positioned to the side facing the transmission tunnel.

2. Re-position seat onto mounting area and align holes in the seat bracket to anchor points on the floor pan.
3. Re-install the front left/right seat anchor bolts. Torque bolts to 42 N-m (29 ft.lbs.).
4. Adjust the seat to the fully-forward position.
5. Re-install the rear left/right seat anchor bolts. Torque bolts to 42 N-m (29 ft.lbs.).
6. Re-install the plastic covers over the rear seat anchor bolts.
7. Repeat Steps 1 - 6 for the seat on the passenger side.
