SERVICE INFORMATION

This bulletin provides guidelines regarding the Remanufactured Front Wheel Drive Automatic Transmission RL4FO3A Program. This bulletin applies to all front wheel drive A/T RL4F03A incidents that require removal and repair or replacement of:

^ Internal parts such as bands, bearings, clutches, gears, oil pumps, servos, shafts, washers, etc.

^ External parts such as the torque converter housing or transmission case.

NOTE:
All remanufactured units will include torque converters.

NOTE:
Only NissanMatic "D" All Fluid is authorized for use when performing warranty, service contract, goodwill or other repairs to Infiniti vehicles paid by Infiniti. Infiniti will not reimburse dealers for use of non-genuine Infiniti A/T fluid for such repairs.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
If you can trace a transmission incident to an electronic control or wiring problem, then make these repairs before any further diagnosis attempts.

When a customer experiences a potential transmission incident, please perform the following procedure:

1. Road test the vehicle with the customer.

2. Determine the frequency or regularity of the symptoms the customer senses.

3. Based on the information from steps 1 and 2, fill out a diagnostic check sheet before any further action is taken.





4. Once the incident is verified, follow the guidelines on the chart.

5. If the transmission is replaced, fill out the "Core Identification Form" (included with each remanufactured unit) and return it with the transmission for proper credit. (A sample of the Core Identification Form is provided.)

If the Core Identification Form is not returned with the used A/T core, core credit will not be issued.
