How to Use Additional Software From the Program Card

The example will show you how to insert and use a diagnostic software program from the Program Card in the place of software that is already loaded into the CONSULT Random Access Memory. In this case, we will load software for the LAN system.





^ The LAN (Local Area Network) is new for the 1994 Infiniti Q45 and for the 1995 Nissan Maxima. Touch LAN on the screen to bring up the following screen:





^ When you get the screen shown, install the program card into the card reader and Touch SET OK.





^ If the software card is not installed into the CONSULT card reader slot, an "IMPOSSIBLE TO LOAD" message will appear, as shown.





^ If you see this message, touch the "Back" key to return to the "INSERT UE940 PROGRAM CARD" screen and insert the Program Card, then touch "SET OK.

^ The next screen will ask you to delete one of the loaded system diagnostic programs from the CONSULT Random Access Memory:





^ If you touch the HICAS button, the diagnostic software for the HICAS system will be removed from your CONSULT unit memory, and the diagnostic software for the LAN system will be inserted.





^ The entire process takes a few minutes. Just be patient and wait for the program to load. While it loads, the screen will look like this.





^ Once the program is loaded, you have access to the items in the vehicle LAN system:

^ Touch the large down arrow (symbol) to gain access to additional items in the LAN diagnostic software.





^ To re-install the HICAS system diagnostic software back into the CONSULT Random Access Memory, use the same procedure shown above for installing the LAN diagnostic software.
