Consult Software Loading Procedure
1. Hold down the keys in the upper left and right corners of the touch panel and press the power "ON" switch simultaneously (hold down both keys until the next screen appears while pushing the "ON" switch).
NOTE:
If the keys in the upper left and right corners are not pressed correctly when the power "ON" switch is pressed, an alarm will sound and the power will not turn on.
2. If the initialization was done correctly, the following message will appear at the top of the display:
"(Initialize by card) Insert Card, OK?"
^ The failure of this display to appear indicates that the keys were not correctly pressed. If this happens, press the power "OFF" switch and repeat the above operation.
3. Insert the Program card into the program card reader.
4. Press "Y" on the touch panel.
If a key other than "Y" is pressed, the power for the CONSULT unit will be turned off, and the screen will become blank.
5. Now, the program will start to load. A series of (4) English letters and a blinking square will appear as individual programs are loaded from the program card.
The CONSULT programs will continue to load. The entire process takes approximately 10 minutes.
After all of the programs have been loaded, the following message appears at the bottom of the screen:
"Initialize End"
After the "Initialize End" message appears, touch the "OFF" switch.
^ The programs will now execute when your CONSULT unit is attached to a compatible vehicle.
^ If the programs do not correctly load from the card, or if a defective program card is loaded, an error code will display. If this happens, press the power "OFF" switch and begin the loading/initialization sequence again.
^ After loading the program card and turning the CONSULT unit back "ON," the screen shown on the left will appear:
^ The most recent software loaded into the CONSULT unit's Random Access Memory will be indicated by the numbers below the word CONSULT on the initial screen, as shown.
^ Touching "START" will allow access to individual system diagnostic softwares for use in vehicle system diagnosis.
