G20, OIL CONSUMPTION

APPLIED MODEL: All 1991 G20 (P10), Built prior to July 1991. Countermeasure applied from Engine Number SR20-184265


SERVICE INFORMATION:

Incidents of abnormal oil consumption and/or smoke from the exhaust after the engine has reached normal operating temperature may occur on some 1991 G20 vehicles. The smoke is usually reported to be reduced while driving the vehicle, but returns when idling the engine for more than 5 minutes.





If this incident is reported, pinch the hose as shown in the illustration. If the smoke is decreased, replace the valve cover. An improved valve cover has been applied beginning with July, 1991 production from engine # SR20-184265.


The improved valve cover may be identified by a white paint mark on the breather connector as indicated on the illustration. Please report to the FIXS any incident occurring after the countermeasure application.
