1990 M30 DOOR LOCK LOGIC

SERVICE INFORMATION:

The 1990 M30 door lock system does not include the function that allows the drivers door to be locked from the passenger side door with the key. However, a door lock logic kit is now available which will provide locking of both doors from the passenger side. This option is available at the customers expense if the customer desires his/her 1990 M30 vehicle to include this system.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

CAUTION:

DISCONNECT BATTERY GROUND TERMINAL BEFORE INSTALLATION.





1. Remove LH kick panel, hood lock cable bracket, A/T control unit and lower instrument cover.

2. Attach door lock timer (PN 28450-F6610) to upper mounting hole of A/T control unit and upper mounting hole of theft warning control unit, as shown in the illustration.

3. Connect black connectors of sub-harness (PN 24027-F6600) to theft warning control unit and to original harness.

4. Connect white connectors of sub-harness (PN 24027-F6600) to door lock timers and to original harness.

5. Remove accessory and ignition relays from their shared mounting bracket, and remove bracket.


6. Install supplied bracket (PN 25237-F6620) and remount relays, including new blue relay (PN 25230-C9970). Route sub-harness to relay, connect blue connector of sub-harness to relay.

7. Wrap original harness connectors to sub-harness connectors with supplied protector (PN 24271-60U00).
