Rear Tow Eye Replacement (SUT)

Removal Procedure





1. Open the spare tire carrier in order to access the rear tow eye bolts/nuts.
2. If replacing the hinge side, remove the spare tire carrier. Refer to Spare Tire Carrier Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the nut from the tow eye bolt.
4. Remove the bolts holding the rear tow eyes (2, 3) to either the latch or hinge side of the spare tire carrier frame.
5. Remove the tow eyes.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the tow eye to either the latch (2) or hinge side (3) of the spare tire carrier.
2. Install the bolt.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. Install the nut.

Tighten the nut to 85 N.m (63 lb ft).

4. If replacing the hinge side, install the spare tire carrier. Refer to Spare Tire Carrier Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Secure the spare tire carrier to the rear bumper latch.
