HandsFreeLink System Self-Diagnostic Function

How to Check the HandsFreeLink System Condition

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first 12 Volt Battery Test.
- The self-diagnostic function can only be initiated while the HFL is in its idle state.
- The self-diagnostic function can only be initiated while the HandsFreeLink control unit is in its idle state.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Press and hold the HANG UP button (A) or the HFL BACK button (B) for more than 5 seconds.






3. When the HFL system enters the self-diagnostic function, the following will occurs:

- Without navigation: If the system has not completed testing for HFL DTCs, HandsFreeLink Self Diagnosis in progress... is displayed on the audio display.
- If the HFL is OK, and there are no HFL DTCs, the HFL system says, "The HFT is OK".
- If there are any HFL DTCs stored, the HFL system says, "The HFT is NG".

How to Check the HFL DTC's

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Press and hold the MAP/GUIDE, DEST, and CANCEL buttons for 3 seconds or more, and the self-diagnosis begins.






3. Select the Detail Information & Setting.






4. Select the Unit Check from the Detail Information & Setting menu.






5. Select the HFL from the Check Units menu.






6. Check the GA-NET status:

- If OK, go to step 7.
- If NG, check for navigation hard error code. If any DTCs are indicated, troubleshoot the indicated DTCs. If the DTCs does not indicated, do the HandsFreeLink control unit Input Test Service and Repair.





7. Check the HFL status:

- If OK, Go to step 8.
- If DTC 1792 is displayed, go to DTC B1792 troubleshooting B1792.

8. Return to the Select Diagnosis Items menu, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode.

9. Select the Mic icon.






10. Check the Mic and STRG SW status:

NOTE: Refer to the navigation system section System Diagnostic Mode about using the Mic Level and the Steering Switch test.

- If OK, there was an intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- If any DTC(s) are displayed, troubleshoot the indicated DTC(s).





11. To end the self-diagnostic function, select the Return, or turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
