Wheel Cylinder: Service and Repair




Rear Wheel Cylinder Replacement

NOTICE
Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle; it may damage the paint. If brake fluid does contact the paint, wash it off immediately with water.

NOTE:

- To prevent spills, cover the hose joints with rags or shop towels.

1. Remove the brake shoes Service and Repair.

2. Disconnect the brake line (A) from the wheel cylinder (B).





3. Remove the bolts (C) and the wheel cylinder from the backing plate.

NOTE: Use the special bolts on reassembly.

4. Apply Cemedine 366E sealant or equivalent between the wheel cylinder and backing plate (D), and install the wheel cylinder, then connect the brake line.

5. Install the brake shoes Service and Repair.

6. Bleed the brake system Service and Repair.

7. Do the parking brake inspection and adjustment Adjustments.

8. Spin the wheels to check for brake drag.

9. After installation, check for leaks at hose and line joints or connections, and retighten if necessary.

Test-drive the vehicle, then check for leaks Testing and Inspection.
