Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

Transmission Range Switch Test

1. Do the battery removal procedure.

2. Remove the air cleaner housing Service and Repair.

3. Remove the 6 x 1.0 mm bolt securing the resonator bracket under the battery base bracket from under the bracket, and remove the battery base and the battery base bracket in the engine compartment.

4. Disconnect the transmission range switch connector.






5. Check for continuity between terminals at the transmission range switch connector. There should be continuity between the terminals in the following table for each switch position.

6. If the transmission range switch test results are OK, the transmission range switch test is finished; go to step 7. If there is no continuity between any terminals, check that the transmission range switch installation. If the switch is installed correctly, replace the switch Service and Repair.

7. Check the connectors for corrosion, dirt, or oil, and clean or repair if necessary, then connect the connector securely.

8. Install the battery base bracket and the battery base, and secure the resonator bracket under the battery base bracket with the bolt from under the bracket.

9. Install the air cleaner housing Service and Repair.

10. Do the battery installation procedure.
