Advanced Diagnostics - DTC P1437 (41): Motor Power Inverter (MPI) Module Short CircuitGeneral Description
The motor control module (MCM) detects an internal short circuit malfunction in the 3-phase section in the motor power inverter (MPI) module. When the MPI module short circuit condition occurs for a specified cycle within a set time, or when the phase motor current sensor current is a specified current for a set time, a malfunction is detected and a DTC is stored.

One of these conditions occur:
- The MPI module short circuit malfunction information is input 31 times within 25 seconds.
- The phase motor current sensor current value is 40 A or more and continues to detect at least 100 times.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the MCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
