Engine is hard to start (MIL works OK, no DTCs set)

Diagnostic Procedure:

1. Test the battery. Testing and Inspection

2. Clean the throttle body. Procedures

3. Troubleshoot the injector control module circuit. Injector Control Module Circuit Troubleshooting

4. Replace the fuel filter A element. Fuel Filter A Element Replacement

5. Replace the fuel filter B element. Fuel Filter B Element Replacement

6. Troubleshoot the fuel shut-off solenoid valve 1/fuel shut-off solenoid valve 2 circuit. Testing and Inspection

Also check for:

- Low compression
- Intake air leaks
- Fuel contamination
- Weak spark
- Clogged injector
