Voltage Converter: Service and Repair




DC-DC Converter Removal/Installation

NOTE: Wear insulated gloves to protect yourself from electrical shock.

IMA components are located in this area. The IMA is a high-voltage system. You must be familiar with the IMA system before working on or around it. Make sure you have read the IMA service precautions before doing repairs or service High Voltage Safety.

1. Make sure the ignition switch in LOCK (0).

2. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure Procedures.

3. Remove the IPU lid IPU Lid Removal/Installation.

4. Disconnect the DC-DC converter connector (A).





5. Remove the wires (B) and (C).

6. Remove the bolts (D), and the DC-DC converter (E).

7. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

8. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure Procedures.

NOTE: If the IMA battery level gauge (BAT) displays no segments, start the engine, and hold it between 3,500 rpm and 4,000 rpm without load (in P or N) until the BAT displays at least three segments.
