Navigation Communication Line Circuit Troubleshooting

1. Operate the climate control system in several modes.

Is the climate control system OK?

YES -

- '06-08 models: Go to step 2.
- '09-11 models: Go to step 7.

NO -

Do the Self-Diagnostic Function with the HDS Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview or the climate control unit Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.�

2. Do the Navi system link.�

Is the A/C icon red?

YES -

Go to step 3.

NO -

Go to step 14.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

4. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector F (5P).

5. Disconnect climate control unit connector A (32P).

6. Check for continuity between the following terminals of climate control unit connector A (32P) and audio-navigation unit connector F (5P).









Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 12.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire(s) between the climate control unit and the audio-navigation unit.�

7. Do the System Links Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.

Is the A/C icon red?

YES -

Go to step 8.

NO -

Go to step 14.

8. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

9. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector D (12P).

10. Disconnect climate control unit connector A (32P).

11. Check for continuity between the following terminals of climate control unit connector A (32P) and audio-navigation unit connector D (12P).









Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 12.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire(s) between the climate control unit and the audio-navigation unit.�

12. Check for continuity between body ground and climate control unit connector A (32P) terminals No. 28, No. 29, and No. 30 individually.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the climate control unit and the audio-navigation unit.�

NO -

Go to step 13.

13. Reconnect climate control unit connector A (32P).

14. Connect climate control unit connector A (32P) terminals No. 28, No. 29, and No. 30 with jumper wires.





15. Press the RECIRCULATION and OFF buttons.

Does the RECIRCULATION indicator turn on?

YES -

Do the Unit Check with the navigation system; ('09-11 models) Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.�

NO -

Substitute a known-good climate control unit, and recheck. If the symptom goes away, replace the original climate control unit Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation.�
