Advanced Diagnostics - DTC P15AA (93): Motor Rotor Position Not LearnedGeneral Description
The motor control module (MCM) controls the motor by detecting the rotor position angle using the rotor position sensor. The MCM detects 0 point offset to improve torque accuracy and motor efficiency. When the 0 point offset detection value is a permissible value or more, or when the detection value is not stable for a specified time, the MCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the IMA system indicator comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the MCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The IMA system indicator is cleared if the malfunction does not return in the next trip in which the diagnostic runs. The IMA system indicator, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
