DTC Troubleshooting: P1570 (66)

DTC P1570 (66):

Battery Module Individual Voltage Problem

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

4. Remove the No. 23 BACK UP (10 A) fuse from the under-dash fuse/relay box , wait for at least 30 seconds, then reinstall it.

5. Start the engine.

6. Make sure all electrical items (A/C, audio, lights, etc.) are off.

7. Check the SOC in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

8. Hold the engine speed between 3,500 and 4,000 rpm without load (in P or N) until the SOC increases to 75 %. If the SOC does not increase, go to step 10.

9. Let the engine idle for 3 minutes.

10. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P1570 (66) indicated?

YES -

Go to step 11.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery module and the BCM module.�

11. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

12. Turn the battery module switch OFF High Voltage Safety.

13. Remove the PCU lid MCM Replacement.

14. Disconnect BCM module connector B (14P).

15. Measure the voltage between these BCM module connector terminals:

- B6 and B14
- B14 and B5
- B5 and B13
- B13 and B4
- B4 and B12
- B12 and B11
- B7 and B1
- B1 and B8
- B8 and B2
- B2 and B9
- B9 and B3





Is the difference between the maximum and the minimum values 3 V or more?

YES -

Replace the battery module Service and Repair, then go to step 16.

NO -

Go to step 28.

16. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

17. Reconnect all connectors.

18. Reinstall the IPU lid IPU Lid Removal/Installation, then turn the battery module switch ON High Voltage Safety.

19. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

20. Clear the DTC with the HDS Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

21. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

22. Remove the No. 23 BACK UP (10 A) fuse from the under-dash fuse/relay box, wait for at least 30 seconds, then reinstall it.

23. Start the engine.

24. Check the SOC in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

25. Hold the engine speed between 3,500 and 4,000 rpm without load (in P or N) until the SOC increases to 75 %.

26. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P1570 (66) indicated?

YES -

Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery module and the BCM module, then go to step 1.

NO -

Go to step 27.

27. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P1570 (66) in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Does the screen indicate PASSED?

YES -

Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs were indicated in step 26, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.�

NO -

If the screen indicates FAILED, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery module and the BCM module, then go to step 1. If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 21.

28. Reconnect all connectors.

29. Reinstall the IPU lid IPU Lid Removal/Installation, then turn the battery module switch ON High Voltage Safety.

30. Update the BCM module if it does not have the latest software Testing and Inspection, or substitute a known-good BCM module Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

31. Clear the DTC with the HDS Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

32. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

33. Remove the No. 23 BACK UP (10 A) fuse from the under-dash fuse/relay box, wait for at least 30 seconds, then reinstall it.

34. Start the engine.

35. Check the SOC in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

36. Hold the engine speed between 3,500 and 4,000 rpm without load (in P or N) until the SOC increases to 75 %.

37. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P1570 (66) indicated?

YES -

Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery module and the BCM module. If the BCM module was updated, substitute a known-good BCM module Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview, and recheck. If the BCM module was substituted, go to step 1.

NO -

Go to step 38.

38. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P1570 (66) in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Does the screen indicate PASSED?

YES -

If the BCM module was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the BCM module was substituted, replace the original BCM module Service and Repair. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs were indicated in step 37, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.�

NO -

If the screen indicates FAILED, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery module and the BCM module. If the BCM module was updated, substitute a known-good BCM module Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview, then go to step 32. If the BCM module was substituted, go to step 1. If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 32.
