DTC Troubleshooting: P0A94 (48)
DTC P0A94 (48):
DC-DC Converter Output Low Voltage
NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data, and review the general troubleshooting information Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U1221 (35) or P0562 (94) indicated?
YES -
Do the troubleshooting for DTC U1221 (35) U1221, or DTC P0562 (94) P0562.
NO -
Go to step 3.
3. Clear the DTC with the HDS Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
4. Start the engine.
5. Check under these conditions:
- Headlights on high beam
- Blower fan at maximum speed
- Rear window defogger on
6. Let the engine idle for 2 minutes.
7. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0A94 (48) in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
Does the screen indicate FAILED?
YES -
Go to step 8.
NO -
If the screen indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the DC-DC converter, the +B terminal (on the under-hood fuse/ relay box), the MCM, and the No. 23 BACK UP (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box. If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 5.
8. Check the DC-DC CONVERTER INFORMATION in the DATA LIST with the HDS.
Does the screen indicate NORMAL?
YES -
Go to step 9.
NO -
Replace the DC-DC converter Service and Repair, then go to step 14.
9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
10. Check the under-hood fuse/relay box +B terminal (A) (BLK wire) connection.
Is the connection OK?
YES -
Go to step 11.
NO -
Repair the +B terminal connection, then go to step 16.
11. Turn the battery module switch OFF High Voltage Safety.
12. Remove the IPU lid IPU Lid Removal/Installation.
13. Check the +B connector (A) and - connector (B) connections on the DC-DC converter.
Are the connections OK?
YES -
Replace the DC-DC converter Service and Repair, then go to step 14.
NO -
Repair the +B connector or - connector, then go to step 14.
14. Reconnect all connectors.
15. Reinstall the IPU lid IPU Lid Removal/Installation, then turn the battery module switch ON High Voltage Safety.
16. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
17. Clear the DTC with the HDS Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
18. Start the engine.
19. Check under these conditions:
- Headlights on high beam
- Blower fan at maximum speed
- Rear window defogger on
20. Let the engine idle for 2 minutes.
21. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC P0A94 (48) indicated?
YES -
Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the DC-DC converter, the under-hood fuse/relay box, the +B terminal (on the under-hood fuse/relay box), the MCM, and the No. 23 BACK UP (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box, then go to step 1.
NO -
Go to step 22.
22. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0A94 (48) in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
Does the screen indicate PASSED?
YES -
Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs were indicated in step 21, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.�
NO -
If the screen indicates FAILED, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the DC-DC converter, the +B terminal (on the under-hood fuse/ relay box), the MCM, and the No. 23 BACK UP (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box, then go to step 1. If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 19.
