DTC Troubleshooting: P0A7F (78)

DTC P0A7F (78):

Battery Module Deterioration

- NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data, and review the general troubleshooting information Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
- Check online for the latest software and service information related to the DTC or symptoms you are troubleshooting.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P1586 (23) indicated?

YES -

Do the troubleshooting for DTC P1586 (23) P1586.

NO -

Go to step 3.

3. Clear the DTC with the HDS Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

4. Start the engine.

5. Check the SOC in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

6. Hold the engine speed between 3,500 and 4,000 rpm without load (in P or N) until the SOC increases to 70 %.

7. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P1586 (23) indicated?

YES -

Do the troubleshooting for DTC P1586 (23) P1586.

NO -

Replace the battery module Service and Repair, then go to step 8.

8. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

9. Clear the DTC with the HDS Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

10. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P0A7F (78) indicated?

YES -

Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery module, the battery current sensor, and the BCM module, then go to step 1.

NO -

Go to step 11.

11. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0A7F (78) in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Does the screen indicate PASSED?

YES -

Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs were indicated in step 10, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.�

NO -

If the screen indicates FAILED, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery module, the battery current sensor, and the BCM module, then go to step 1. If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, keep the ignition switch ON (II) until a result comes on.
