Advanced Diagnostics - DTC P0603 (60): Motor Control Module (MCM) Internal Circuit Keep Alive Memory (KAM) Error






General Description
The motor control processor stores the control data for the keep alive memory (KAM). The motor control processor compares the data input to and read out from the KAM, and when the data does not match, a malfunction is detected and a DTC is stored.

Enable Conditions






Malfunction Threshold
One of these conditions occurs:
- The data input to or read out from the KAM is bad.
- The check sum of the data readout is abnormal three times.

Diagnosis Details

Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the PCM and the MCM memory.

Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
