Side Impact Sensor (First) Replacement

Removal

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, Procedures then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

2. Remove the front seat assembly. Front Seat Removal/Installation

3. Remove the front door sill inner trim. Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Door Sill Area

4. Remove the lower B-pillar lower trim panel.

5. Disconnect the floor wire harness 4P connector (A) from the side impact sensor (first).

6. Using a TORX T30 bit, remove the TORX bolt (B), then remove the side impact sensor (first) (C).






Installation

1. Install the side impact sensor (first) (A) with a new TORX bolt (B), then connect the floor wire harness 4P connector (C) to the side impact sensor (first).

2. Reinstall all removed parts.

4. Clear any DTCs. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

5. After installing the side impact sensor (first) confirm proper system operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II); the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
