SRS Unit Replacement
Removal
1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure Procedures, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
2. Remove the driver's dashboard center lower cover and passenger's dashboard center lower cover. Dashboard Center Lower Cover Removal/Installation
3. Using a TORX T30 bit, remove the TORX bolt (A).
4. With navigation: Remove the audio disc changer. Audio Switch Panel Removal/Installation (Without Navigation)
5. Without navigation: Remove the center pocket. Dashboard Center Pocket Removal/Installation (Without Navigation)
6. Disconnect SRS unit connector A (39P) and SRS unit connector B (39P), and remove the TORX bolts (C) using a TORX T30 bit, then pull out the SRS unit.
Installation
1. Install the SRS unit (A) with a new TORX bolt (B),using a TORX T30 bit.
NOTE: Be sure the SRS unit is sitting squarely against it's bracket before torquing the TORX bolt.
2. Using a TORX T30 bit, install the new TORX bolts (A), then connect the connectors (B) to the SRS unit; push them into position until they click. Technician Safety Information
3. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. Procedures
4. Make sure the SRS unit has the latest software. If it does not have the latest, update the software in the SRS unit. SRS Unit Update
5. Calibrate the ODS unit. Programming and Relearning
6. Do the ODS unit operation check. ODS Unit Operation Check
7. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch ON (II); the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
8. Reinstall all removed parts.
