U1206 (64)
DTC U1206 (64): IMA-CAN Malfunction (Battery Condition Monitor (BCM) Module-Motor Control Module (MCM))General Description
The integrated motor assist-controller area network (IMA-CAN) uses two signal lines, IMACANH and IMACANL, and it receives and transmits multiple signals simultaneously to/from multiple control modules.
When the information is not sent from the battery condition monitor (BCM) module through the IMA-CAN for a specified time continuously or when the information sent from the BCM module is abnormal and this condition continues for a specified cycle, the motor control module (MCM) detects a malfunction of the IMA-CAN and when at least one other node is not malfunctioning after the time to detect BUS-OFF of the IMA-CAN has passed, a DTC is stored.

Enable Conditions
Malfunction Threshold
One of these conditions occurs.
- The information is not sent from the BCM module through the IMA-CAN at least for 0.5 seconds and at least one other node is communicating after 2 seconds have passed.
- The information sent from the BCM module through the IMA-CAN is abnormal at least 10 times and at least one other node is communicating after 2 seconds have passed.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for illuminating the IMA system indicator
When a malfunction is detected, the I MA system indicator comes on and the DTC and the freeze frame data are stored in the MCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the IMA system indicator
The IMA system indicator will be cleared if the malfunction does not recur during the next trip in which the diagnostic runs.
The IMA system indicator, the DTC, and the freeze frame data can be cleared by using the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
