DTC POACO (65): Battery Current Sensor Circuit MalfunctionGeneral Description
The A/D (analog/digital conversion) exchange is done by continuing the battery condition monitor (BCM) module input voltage from the battery current sensor during a no electricity condition of the battery module immediately after the ignition switch is turned on. (max. 140 milliseconds.) When the difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of eight continuous inputs is within 117 mV, the average value of eight battery current sensor inputs is calculated. When the battery current sensor average value exceeds the set value, a malfunction is detected and a DTC is stored.
Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type, OBD Status
Enable Conditions
Malfunction Threshold
The average value of the battery current sensor input exceeds the range of -5.0 A to 5.0 A.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for illuminating the MIL
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and the DTC and the freeze frame data are stored in the PCM and BCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the MIL
The MIL will be cleared if the malfunction does not recur during three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs.
The MIL, the DTC, and the freeze frame data can be cleared by using the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
