DTC P0A9E (50): Battery Module Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High Voltage




General Description
If the battery condition monitor (BCM) module control input voltage from battery module temperature sensor 1 is above the upper limit of a set range, or if there is an open in the signal wire, or the temperature sensor 1 ground, a malfunction in the BCM module input circuit is detected and a DTC is stored.

Malfunction Threshold
The battery module temperature sensor 1 output voltage is 4.95 V or more for at least 2 seconds.

Diagnosis Details

Conditions for illuminating the MIL
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and the DTC and the freeze frame data are stored in the PCM and BCM memory.

Conditions for clearing the MIL
The MIL will be cleared if the malfunction does not recur during three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs

The MIL, the DTC, and the freeze frame data can be cleared by using the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
