P0562 (94)

DTC P0562 (94): Motor Control Module (MCM) Power Source Circuit Unexpected Voltage

General Description
The motor control module (MCM) stores the actual voltage value of the back-up power source that is continuously supplied through the VBU terminal when the ignition switch is OFF.

When the input voltage to the MCM is considerably lower than the normal range, the MCM cannot store the actual value. In that case, an open or short to GND in the signal wire is detected, and a DTC stored.

Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type, OBD Status

Enable Conditions

Malfunction Threshold
The VBU terminal voltage of the MCM is 4.0 V or less for at least 2 seconds.

Diagnosis Details

Conditions for illuminating the MIL
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and the DTC and the freeze frame data are stored in the PCM and MCM memory.

Conditions for clearing the MIL
The MIL will be cleared if the malfunction does not recur during three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs.

The MIL, the DTC, and the freeze frame data can be cleared by using the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
