P0562 (15)
DTC P0562 (15): Battery Condition Monitor (BCM) Module Power Source Circuit Unexpected VoltageGeneral Description
The battery condition monitor (BCM) module stores the actual voltage value of the back-up power source that is continuously supplied through the VBU terminal when the ignition switch is OFF.
When the input voltage to the BCM module is considerably lower than the normal range, the BCM module cannot store the actual value. In that case, an open or short to GND in the signal wire is detected, and a DTC stored.
Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type, OBD Status
Enable Conditions
Malfunction Threshold
The VBU terminal voltage of the BCM module is 4.0 V or less for at least 2 seconds.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for illuminating the MIL
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and the DTC and the freeze frame data are stored in the PCM and BCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the MIL
The MIL will be cleared if the malfunction does not recur during three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs.
The MIL, the DTC, and the freeze frame data can be cleared by using the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
