Removal and Replacement
Alternator Removal and InstallationRemoval
1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure.
2. Raise the vehicle on the lift.
3. Remove the splash shield.
4. Disconnect the A/C condenser fan motor connector (A), then remove the harness clamp (B).
5. Loosen the A/C condenser fan shroud mounting bolts (C).
6. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
7. Remove the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (A) and the coolant reservoir (B).
8. Remove the drive belt.
9. Disconnect the alternator connector (A), then remove the BLK wire (B) from the alternator.
10. Remove the harness clamp (C) from the alternator then disconnect the A/C compressor clutch connector (D) from the A/C compressor.
11. Remove the bolt (E) securing the harness bracket.
12. Remove the mounting bolt (A) and the alternator bracket mounting bolt (B), then remove the alternator.
Installation
1. Install the alternator, then tighten the mounting bolt (A) and the alternator bracket mounting bolt (B).
2. Connect the alternator connector (A), then install the BLK wire (B) to the alternator. Make sure the crimped it side of the ring terminal faces away from the alternator when you connect it.
3. Install the harness clamp (C) to the alternator, then connect the A/C compressor clutch connector (D) to the A/C compressor.
4. Install the bolt (E) securing the harness bracket.
5. Install the drive belt.
6. Install the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (A) and the coolant reservoir (B).
7. Raise the vehicle on the lift.
8. Tighten the A/C compressor fan shroud mounting bolts (A).
9. Connect the A/C condenser fan motor connector (B), then install the harness clamp (C).
10. Install the splash shield.
11. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
12. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.
