EGR Tube: Service and Repair

EGR Pipe Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Lift the vehicle, and support it with jackstands.
2. Remove the splash shield.
3. Remove the front WU-TWC stay (A).






4. Remove the EGR pipe mounting nuts (B) and front WU-TWC stay joint (C).
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Remove the EGR pipe mounting bolts (A).






7. Remove the EGR pipe (B) and gaskets (C).

Installation

1. Set the EGR pipe (A) with new gaskets (B), and tighten the EGR pipe mounting bolts (C).






2. Lift the vehicle, and support it with jackstands.
3. Temporarily install the front WU-TWC stay joint (A) and the front WU-TWC stay (B). Tighten the EGR pipe mounting nuts (C) and the bolt (E) by hand.






4. Tighten the EGR pipe mounting nuts.
5. Tighten the A/C compressor bracket mounting bolt (D), then tighten the bolt.
6. Install the splash shield.
